AIDA SYARINAZ AHMAD ADLAN
PSYCHIATRIST
Dr Aida is a senior lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and a psychiatrist practicing in University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and University Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC). Her undergraduate medical degre (MBBS) as well as her specialist degree (Masters in Psychological Medicine were both obtained from University of Malaya. She pursued her subspecialty training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) in McGill University, Canada. Dr Aida believes in a wholistic approach in managing patients with mental health problems and this include providing psychodynamic psychotherapy, a form of talking therapy. Dr Aida has special interests in mood disorders, particularly depression, anxiety, eating disorder and trauma-related conditions. Dr Aida was involved in the revision of the Malaysian Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) on Major Depressive Disorder, which was recetly launched this year. Dr Aida is passionate about spreading mental health awareness and is regularly invited to share her expertise on topics related to mental health on public and private events.
